APLH

The Award For Personal License Holders

At The Training Works, our trainers hold Training Professional status with the BII (British Innkeeping Institute) and so are able to offer training for the Award for Personal Licence Holders. The training can take place at our head office in Wimbledon or we can provide in-company courses whereby we will come to your place of work and train your staff, providing there are a minimum of 5 learners.

Course Overview:

The APLH training course will provide each delegate with a clear understanding of the framework of law and regulation that underpins the responsibilities of the personal licence holder.

This will include:

  • Licensing authorities
  • Personal and Premises licences
  • Operating schedules
  • Permitted temporary activities
  • Unauthorised licensable activities
  • Police powers and rights of entry
  • Legal and social responsibilities of the personal licence holder
  • Illegal drugs, the effects of alcohol and disorderly conduct
  • Protection of children

In addition to this, we also include a conflict management and risk assessment module, written specifically for the licensed retail sector. This is particularly beneficial for clubs, bars, theatres, hotels and any premises holding special events.

The APLH course is aimed at managers, assistant managers and supervisors or staff seeking promotion to one of these positions.

Anyone working in a job role that requires them to authorise retail sales of alcohol in England and Wales must complete the APLH course in order to apply for their personal licence.

Course Fees: 100 + VAT inclusive of all course materials.

Assessment: A 40 question multiple choice question examination immediately follows the APLH training course.

Duration: 1 day. Candidates arrive at 09.30 for registration, course starts at 10am, and the examination is set for 15.00hrs (exam lasts 40 minutes).
